The Mesa Verde National Park of Colorado brings you one step closer to seeing some of the most amazing cliffs in the United States. The Mesa Verde National Park is one of the places that contain many cliff-like canyons and many nature trails to explore. If you plan on camping then you should know this is one of the national parks that you should go to in order to treat the family out to a nice vacation.

To get to this monumental national park is a long drive indeed, but well worth the wait. The first thing you should know is that the Mesa Verde National Park is found in the southwestern Colorado. If you take Highway 150 you will find it to be hour and a half drive to the national park. There is RV camping allowed in this nation park and they allow you to have two vehicles and three tents per campsite. When you go to Mesa Verde National Park you will find it to be a dry environment and you will find there is no waterfront access.

There are not many trees around in this area so that means there is little shade. The state of Colorado has a unique climate in that it can snow and still be very dry. The Mesa Verde National Park does not provide you with the access to a pool unless you travel back to town to a hotel. If you plan on bringing your pet with you then you should be aware that there are not many activities for them to do there. The trails and monument sites do not allow dogs and the 6 foot leash law for the park applies in order to keep your dog and other wild life safe.

The campgrounds allow tents and people that have RV’s can have up to 3 tents on their campsite. The campground is perfect for any family because there are a lot of historical aspects of the land and many trails to explore. Another great attribute to the Mesa Verde National Park is that you can take your family or friends on several different trails in order for them to see the natural beauty of the amazing cliffs. The RV campsites have hook ups for water and electricity in order to make trip fun and convenient.

There is no wireless internet available unless you go to a hotel back in town. If you want to contact any one by telephone you can access a phone in different areas of the campgrounds. The price varies depending how you are camping. For an RV campsite it can cost around $20 to $30. You should know that when you stay in a tent it will cost you up to $10 to $20 for camping.

You should know that you can hire a tour guide that can show you around the area and look at the history of the Mesa Verde National Park. The sights and seeing of the Mesa Verde National Park show you what happened many years ago when the earth changed and it can be simply breath taking.
